Royal George Theatre Center 1641 N. Halsted, Chicago 312-988-9000
The Royal George, one of the city's more important traditional medium sized theatres. It's got a great Lincoln Park location, a wonderful layout (the seats are well-spaced, the room is not too large, and there really is not a bad seat in the house), and generally popular shows (including the blockbuster Angels in America and barbershop revue Forever Plaid).
A recognized name in the theatre community and one of the busiest spaces in the city, the Royal George also houses a smaller studio theatre, which traditionally stages an open run comedy or musical, and a good Greek restaurant, Petros Dianna's is located off the lobby.
Directions Take Lake Shore Drive to the North Ave. exit. Drive West on North and then North on Halsted.
Transit Directions Get off on the North/Clybourn El stop on the Howard Dan Ryan Line. Walk East to Halsted and then North a block.
