If you live in the city of Chicago and own a motor vehicle, Chicago city law requires that you purchase an annual city vehicle sticker. The 2006-2007 stickers range in price from $30 to $150 and must be purchased and displayed by July 15, 2006.
Starting April 1, 2006, however, Chicago vehicle stickers will no longer be sold at the Secretary of State driver's license facilities located at 9901 S. King Drive and 5401 N. Elston Avenue. (According to the city, in recent years, the high volume of customers in the months of June and July has outgrown the facilities at these locations.)
Residents seeking to purchase vehicle stickers have several options available to them:
- All classes of city vehicle stickers including transfers, replacements and residential zone parking permits can be purchased at the City Clerk's Satellite Office located at 5301 S. Cicero Avenue and at the City Clerk's Office in Room 107 of City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle Street. In addition, a new full service City Clerk Satellite Office is located at 5430 W. Gale Street.
