1100 Mineral Springs Road, Porter, Indiana. A short ride from Chicago is the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, nearly 25 miles of beaches, bogts, wetlands, woodlands, and dunesalong the southern shore of Lake Michigan. The park has more than 45 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. West Beach is the only life-guarded beach on the lakeshore and is very popular with families. Other beaches are Kemil, Porter, Central Avenue, and Mt. Baldy. Boating and fishing are available, but note that a valied State of Indiana license is required to fish.
