Richard J. Daley Center

Richard J. Daley Center - originally the Civic Center, block bounded by Randolph, Dearborn, Washington, and Clark Streets. Architects were C.F. Murphy Associates; Loebl, Schlossman & Bennett; Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The practical purpose of the building was to create large and high courtrooms with no columns interrupting clear sight lines. The generous proportions of the building provide spaciousness and grandeur.
