Tired of skiing on the local Mt. Trashmore? Ready for the real deal? Then Alpine Valley is for you!
Throughout the years Alpine Valley Resort has continued to grow. It now offers 12 slopes that range from beginner to expert mogul runs with 388 vertical feet of skiing enjoyment, making it the largest ski resort in southern Wisconsin, and one of the Midwest's best-kept secrets.
Set against the hills and valleys of the scenic Kettle Moraine area of Southern Wisconsin, Alpine Valley Resort offers picturesque scenery as well as many amenities to make your getaway fun filled.
The runs are serviced by 14 chairlifts (wow!) and five rope tows, which can move 15,000 skiers per hour up the slopes. That'll cut down on the time you spend in lines, which is pretty nice when you only have a day to ski. Thank you, Alpine!
And if you aren't quite ready to try out for the olympic team, Alpine Valley's professional ski school is waiting to make your visit more enjoyable. Children's programs (KinderKIDS and ValleyKIDS) are offered, as well as adult lessons and even racing programs.
Alpine Valley is the real deal, and one of the best resorts you'll find accessible from Chicago. Throw the racks on the car, load up the kids, and have a great time up north!
Directions Getting there is no problem! Simply get on I-94 north towards Milwaukee. When you start getting close, look for Hwy 20. Take exit WI Hwy 20, west to Hwy D (Hwy 20 curves north, so turn left on D, that's west). Go just 1/2 mile west of the intersection of Hwy D & Hwy 120, and there you are. Have fun!
